Server-side tracking agency for GTM, GA4 and Meta CAPI

Coby sets up server-side tracking for online shops and lead generation sites across Europe. We use server-side Google Tag Manager hosted on TAGGRS, and connect GA4, Google Ads and the Meta Conversions API. Marloes, ex-Google and founder of Coby, does the implementation herself.

What server-side tracking does

Your site sends measurement data to a server on your own domain. That server passes it on to GA4, Google Ads and Meta. With browser-only tracking, ad blockers, Safari and Firefox stop part of that data before it arrives.

You recover conversions you were missing, cookies last longer, and you decide which data each platform receives.

When it's worth doing

  • Google Ads or Meta reports clearly fewer conversions than your backend.
  • A large share of your visitors use Safari or an ad blocker.
  • Your Meta Event Match Quality is low.
  • You spend €2,000 a month or more on ads. Below that, the gain is usually too small.

Not sure? In the free audit we put your backend numbers next to what your platforms report, so you can see the gap. For a comparison of hosting options, see our guide to server-side tracking tools.

Coby's five-step server-side setup

  1. Audit your current measurement. We record what you measure today and what you miss, so the before and after can be compared.
  2. Server container and subdomain. We set up the container on TAGGRS and connect a subdomain of your own site.
  3. Move the tags. GA4, Google Ads with Enhanced Conversions, and Meta through the Conversions API, deduplicated against the Pixel.
  4. Consent. Consent Mode v2 carries through server-side. No consent means no tracking.
  5. Test and hand over. Two weeks of comparison against your backend, plus documentation of what was built and why.

What it did for Climbing Network

Climbing Network moved to a new Webflow site. We rebuilt their measurement with client-side and server-side GTM on TAGGRS, GA4, the Pixel and CAPI, and connected their booking platforms Recras and Sportivity. After the rebuild, 9.2% more page views and 7.7% more purchases were recorded, and six systems now run on one set of numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Is server-side tracking GDPR compliant?

Yes, as long as consent is respected. We don't use it to work around a cookie banner.

Does it work with Shopify?

Yes. Shopify's checkout doesn't allow custom scripts, so checkout events run through Customer Events. That is part of the setup.

Which hosting do you use?

TAGGRS. If you're already on Stape, we work with that.

How many extra conversions will I see?

It depends on your visitors and your consent rate. For Climbing Network it was 7.7% more purchases. The audit gives you an estimate for your site.

Do you work with companies outside the Netherlands?

Yes. We're based in Barcelona and work in English and Dutch.

What does server-side tracking cost?

Setup starts from €750 one-off, plus the TAGGRS subscription. The price depends on your platform and the number of integrations.

Curious how many conversions you're missing?
